Learn About The Adaptil Calm Home Diffuser
Mother dogs communicate with their puppies using natural “comforting messages” released from the mammary zone. These “comforting messages“ are scientifically called Dog Appeasing Pheromones. They are odourless and are only perceived by dogs. They provide a strong signal of comfort and security to dogs of all ages.
Adaptil Calm releases “comforting messages” to help dogs feel reassured and relaxed in all challenging situations.
Many dog owners start to see results within the first 7 days. However, every dog is unique. Depending on how long the signs have been present and how severe the signs may be, it may take longer to see an improvement.
We recommend using Adaptil Calm Home Diffuser for at least 1 month.
To get the best from Adaptil follow the relevant advice on this website according to your specific problem.
Most of the dogs will benefit from a permanent use of Adaptil Calm Home Diffuser to create a reassuring environment in your home. The minimum recommended duration is one month.

How Long Will it Last?
- 1 refill lasts up to 30 days. It is recommended to replace the refill every 4 weeks, even if a small amount of liquid remains in the vial (the vial can never be completely empty because the last few drops of liquid are not enough in contact with the wick to allow the diffusion process)

This product is covered by the European Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE): WEE/HG0312WZ.
The Diffuser Is Warm, What Does This Mean?
The diffuser contains a heating element that diffuses the product, so is designed to be warm to the touch.
The Level Of Liquid Doesn’t Seem To Be Going Down?
The diffusion of the liquid from the Diffuser is a very slow process. In normal conditions of use, it is difficult to see any change in the vial over the first week of use. Slight variations will occur depending on air turnover.
To make sure your diffuser is working properly, check that:
– the wick is not broken
– the device is turned on all the time (sometimes an electrical outlet is controlled by a wall switch)
– finally, try the device in a different electrical socket.
There Are Visible Marks On Wall Or Furniture Above The Diffuser
The oily vapour (carrying the “comforting messages”) rises in a column of warm air above the diffuser. If this rising air is blocked (e.g. under a shelf, table or furniture) the oil may re-condense and leave a visible mark).
DO NOT plug the diffuser under any furniture or object protruding from the wall (minimum clear distance above the diffuser is 120 cm).
Using The Diffuser With Air Conditioning
Be careful to plug the diffuser away from the air-conditioner, vents, cold air returns, or exhaust fan.
Using The Diffuser With Open Windows
Usage with open windows and doors may result in diffusion at a faster rate. The product may not last the full expected 30 days. In such a case, a different diffuser location should be considered within the house, targeting the area where the dog spends most of its time.
